Pete Roth Session Guitar

I am honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with others in making music. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of being involved in a wide range of musical projects, from live bands and studio work to tribute acts, record label collaborations, theatre productions, and function performances. Each experience has enriched my musical journey, and I am eager to keep this aspect of my career as vibrant as possible. The blend of versatility, creativity, and skill that these opportunities demand brings me immense joy—second only to the thrill of creating original music.

Pete has been a dedicated professional musician since 1998, beginning his career on the German prime-time television show Hitparade der Volksmusik. He has served as Musical Director for private TV productions and continues to lead and perform with various bands across the country. His work has also taken him around the world, including aboard P&O cruise ships, particularly the Oriana.

Throughout his career, Pete has had the privilege of performing alongside esteemed international artists such as Alec Dankworth, Vasilis Xenopoulos, Laurence Cottle, Rob Fowler, Steve Vintner, Brian Dee, and Rosemary Squires (who performed with legends like Sammy Davis Jr. and Les Paul). He has also collaborated with The London Gala Orchestra, Teatro, Maria Friedman (renowned for her work with Stephen Sondheim and Michel Legrand), Nick Meier (of Jeff Beck and Steve Vai, favourite Nation), Giorgio Serci (Naim, Antonio Forcione), Bill Bruford, Tim Sanders (who worked with Eric Clapton and The Who), Sam Flynn (associated with Roachford, Eurythmics, and Stevie Wonder), Terl Bryant (John Paul Jones), and many others.

Pete has also had the honor of working under the musical direction of notable figures such as Brian Dee (who worked with Miles Davis), Steve Bell (London Philharmonic), Olivier Award-winner Michael Haslam, and Chris Walker (Oliver!), among others.

His performances have graced prestigious festivals and venues, including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London, Fairfield Halls, the Piccadilly Theatre, Pizza Express Dean Street Jazz Club in Soho, Kings Place Music Festival, Bull’s Head in Barnes, The Royal Festival Hall (Purcell Room), West Wycombe Music Festival, Menier Chocolate Factory, and the International Guitar Festival in London.

In addition to his performance career, Pete is also an accomplished educator. He has lectured in guitar at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and is an associate lecturer at both Goldsmiths University and Chichester University. His academic pursuits include music theory and studies at ICMP in London, and he recently founded the Roth Academy, which offers high-end guitar performance lessons in a modern, blended learning environment. Furthermore, Pete has contributed to the Q&A section of Total Guitar Magazine in issue 200.
